Formed in 1974, Mississauga is now recognized as Canada's 6th largest and fastest growing major city with a population of 729,000 residents representing cultures from around the world.  Mississauga is located on Lake Ontario, just west of Toronto.

Mississauga neighbourhoods include: Applewood, Centennial Park, City Centre, Clarkson, Cooksville, Dixie, Erin Mills, Erindale, Heartland, Levi Creek, Lorne Park, Malton, MeadowvaleMineola, Mississauga Valley, Orchard Heights, Park Royal, Port Credit, Sheridan Homelands and Streetsville.

Mississauga Transit, provides bus service and connects to the Toronto Transit Commission's subway, Oakville Transit, Brampton Transit and GO Transit commuter rail service lines along
Lakeshore West, Georgetown, and Milton to Union Station.

Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada's busiest airport provides flights to regional, national, and international destinations.

The City of Mississauga's 11 Community Centres include: 18 City-run swimming pools, 7 fitness centres, and 21 indoor ice-rink surfaces. Mississauga has over 350 parks of various sizes.
The Mississauga Library System has 18 locations.
